U11 Overview

All U11 teams will choose from gold or silver divisions. Premier &/or bronze divisions will be added if needed based on the total number of registered teams. Teams will be allowed to switch between divisions as long as the division has not closed. As a general rule, we do not recommend that teams play up in age. If you have any questions about the appropriate division after reading our division recommendations, please call Mike (503-317-7576) to discuss your team's placement in the tournament.

The U11 teams will choose to play 8v8 or 11v11. Regardless of which format you choose each division will be limited to sixteen teams. Assuming a division fills at sixteen teams, each division would then be seeded into four 4-team brackets. Geography, club affiliation and team history will be used to seed the teams. We will work hard to schedule teams so they get to play teams from outside their home geographic area as we know this creates a more enjoyable tournament experience.

Once the teams have been assigned to their divisions, teams will play two or three games in a preliminary round. After the preliminary round games have been completed the teams will be rebracketed based on their win/loss record and will proceed to the playoffs. The format for the playoffs will be based on the total number of teams in each division.

Every team is guaranteed to play four games, while some may get a fifth game. Every team should plan on one or two games on Friday and one or two games on Saturday with one game on Sunday. Over 70% of the teams will play on Sunday as it is very difficult to schedule four games on two days. Some teams may get a friendly game scheduled for Sunday and teams are expected to particiate in every game they are scheduled for. Teams should be prepared to begin at 9am on Friday and will conclude on Sunday afternoon.

U11 Division Recommendations

Gold Divsion:
Since your team is probably participating in spring tryouts, you may not yet know how your team will compare to other teams. If your team was formed from players that were very competitive in their developmental league, then you should choose the gold division. If your team has not substantially changed from the prior summer and if they were competitive, then we would recommend you choose the gold division.

Silver Division:
Teams that are newly formed and do not have a history should enter this division - unless your team is comprised of hand-picked players. Developmental teams that have not been very competitive in their respective spring league that will play with the same roster should have a great time in the silver division. This division is also a great fit for all true recreational teams.
